Helen Bird, BREW Centre National Coordinator, BREW Centre for Local Authorities; Hugh Cripps, Chief Executive, Peterborough Environment City Trust and Graeme Maughan, StreetCare Service Development Manager, Environment & Culture, London Borough of Brent.

This webinar, featuring two case studies, will provide a background to Defra’s Zero Waste Places Initiative and introduce the Zero Waste Places Standard.

Hugh will present the Zero Waste Places Project for Peterborough City Centre which has delivered a high profile zero waste campaign to shoppers and retailers. The scheme also looks at the redevelopment of a central town square to design out waste at all levels.

Graeme will describe the progress of the London Borough of Brent’s Green Zone Project, a community and environmental scheme, in which residents encourage their neighbours to be ‘greener’ in their everyday lives.
