Differences in Implementation of Aviation EU ETS across Member States
03:00 p.m. (GMT) / 11:00 a.m. (EDT)
16th March 2010
Aviation Emissions working group
Andrzej Rode, Head of Environmental Affairs at LOT and Peter Zaman, Partner at Clifford Chance. Moderated by Shaun Bainbridge, Director, CICS.
This webinar will explore the different approaches to EU ETS implementation as a result of different regulatory traditions across EU Member States. Join LOT Polish Airlines and Clifford Chance as they examine how compliance with the EU ETS means different things in different Member States, the different rationales and the work of the verifiers. We will analyse the differences in the MRV process and the levels of checking by the accreditation bodies. Ensuring consistency and compatibility between schemes is essential to develop a robust, harmonised MRV process and ensure compliance with the scheme. The webinar will build on best practice experiences and the sharing of lessons to explore common approaches and definitions, and maintain environmental integrity and a comparable set of rules for the EU ETS.
