Description
The European Union (EU) has made climate change a top priority. Its ambitious targets are available in the EU Climate Action and Energy Package , which commits Member States to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020. Signatories of the Covenant of Mayors contribute to these policy objectives through a formal commitment to go beyond this target.
Join Pedro Ballesteros Torres, Principal Administrator, DG Energy and Transport as he discusses the Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and how the Covenant and its supporting structures can provide tools and funding for such projects. Pedro will also provide examples of Benchmarks of Excellence which Covenant Signatories and supporting structures have realised in their regions and territories.
