Developing the classical skills needed to move us towards a sustainable economy
3:00 p.m. (BST) / 10:00 a.m. (EDT) 4th August 2010
The inquiry into leadership skills for a sustainable economy undertaken by EDF Energy in partnership with Business in the Community revealed that the vast majority of businesses appreciate the importance of the need to develop sustainability skills at all levels in their organisations. However, they also acknowledge that not enough is being done, and would like to see a lot more action and support.
Overall, it is not the skills that are new – but this vastly more complex context in which they need to be re-enforced. The companies surveyed believe they will benefit most from transferable business-to-business learning as well as more tailored third party support.
