Using CRC to deliver cost savings

3:00 p.m. (GMT) / 10:00 a.m. (EST) 23rd February 2010

The Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency scheme, this year's administrative carbon headache for a large slice of the UK economy, is forcing company directors to come face to face with the energy cost of their business for the first time. It is also proving to be a big paper chase for compliance officers and their teams. But there are benefits to CRC. At least 10% of the energy cost of most businesses is easily saved.

One simple way of making that happen also gives CRC participants an advantage in the performance league table and lowers the net cost of CRC participation. Chris Stubbs, director at WSP Environment & Energy, provides an overview of a simple approach to delivering CRC scheme benefit and substantial cost savings - a win-win for owner-occupiers, landlords and tenants across all types of property.
