Whole House Low Energy Refurbishments: Opportunities and incentives in the UK

4:00 p.m. (GMT) / 11:00 a.m. (EST) 23rd January 2012

The ‘Green Deal’ is the UK government’s flagship policy to improve the energy efficiency of 14 million homes in the next decade. The initiative will encourage householders to undertake low-energy retrofits at no up-front cost, instead the outlay will be paid back through the savings in fuel bills. This webinar, brought to you in partnership with the Trade Commissioner Service at the High Commission of Canada in London, looks in detail at the issues surrounding low energy housing upgrades.

David Strong will provide an overview of the ‘Green Deal’ policy, its aims and ambitions and how it will operate together with the type of technologies that might be used; Joanna Marshall Cook will give an overview of a pilot project undertaken by BioRegional together with the London Borough of Sutton and B&Q to evaluate consumer attitudes towards whole-house retrofit as well as understand what the barriers and practical considerations were for the partners involved in the project; Clifford Maynes will explore how low energy retrofits are being promoted and implemented in Canada.

Join this webinar to gain:
