Want to know your forecast position in the CRC league table?
How will your organisation fare in the CRC Performance League Table?
At a recent meeting of the Environment Agency’s ‘CRC Customer Operations Liaison Group’ (16 June 2011), there was a discussion about the timing of the publication of the Performance League Table (PLT).
It quickly became apparent that the EA currently has no plans to make the PLT or any of the data available to participants prior to its release to the press and general public.
This means that participants will have very little opportunity to assess their position against their industry sector competitors or peers, and no time to prepare comments or press statements following publication.
Early warning: Local Energy can forecast your likely position
As part of our work on the CRC over the last three years, Local Energy has compiled forecast league tables for the public sector.
We are currently gathering reported Early Action Metric data from local authorities, NHS Trusts, fire and police authorities and other public sector organisations, which we will compile into a ‘shadow PLT’. This will give organisations a very good indication of their likely position in the real PLT when it is published in mid-October.
We can also analyse the data to indicate your position against similar organisation types (i.e. unitary local authorities, central government departments) or local organisations (i.e. public sector bodies in the South East region).
How does it work?
This year’s PLT is calculated using only the Early Action Metric. This is comprised of two elements:
- The percentage of your emissions covered by Carbon Trust Standard accreditation or equivalent
- The percentage of your energy use that was measured by Automatic Meter Reading systems
By now, you should have reported both of these figures in your CRC Annual Report; simply supply those figures to us and we will compile a ‘shadow PLT’ indicating your likely position.
NB We will not disclose your EAM data or likely PLT position to anyone else; all names in the ‘shadow PLT’ will be anonymised, with your position made clear only to you.
