Last week, Lord Hunt, Minister for Sustainable Development and Energy Innovation today welcomed the launch of the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres. Lord Hunt and DEFRA encouraged data centre operators to adopt this code.

I would like to invite from this forum comments on this code of conduct. It this a step in the right direction by the EC DG or simply the industry dipping a toe in the water? Will data centre operators run in mass to adopt the code or will there be a cautionary reaction to this first step towards mandatory reporting of data centre energy consumption.
