I am involved in a feasibility study of a site in Northern Ireland at present and believe that there may be an opportunity for an AD plant combined with some 500 sq mt of PV panels. Grid connection is excellent and the waste streams available are 5 chicken farms with circa 300,000 chickens (mostly free range so dry matter) further 50,000 growers and layers. 3500 dairy cattle and a large pig farm.

I am looking for an AD manufacturer to let me know if these waste streams are indeed enough for a viable plant and if so what size of plant this may require. Whether they design and provide to NI would also be good to know.  The area of the site is circa 4 acres and is itself a now derelict chicken processing plant and a bit of an eyesore. The local political will is with the developer and initial discussions with planning and the local Environment Agency have proved positive.

NI operates under 4rocs as incentives go having recently increased in April 2011 to encourage such schemes
