The seminar focused on the intersection between urban spatial planning and planning for sustainable water systems. 

The seminar program involved city planning and design (water as a design element in the city, water for pleasure and well-being...), and interaction with other infrastructure systems (bio-waste, biogas, heating and cooling, IT communication…) and the surrounding land.

City planners, water managers and researchers highlighted the need for and benefits of involving water at an early stage in city planning. Good examples from cities around the world were demonstrated.
