Collaborative Carbon Reduction in the Supply Chain

Supply chain makes up anywhere between 40 to 80% of an organisation's carbon footprint so engaging supply chains is a pre-condition of successful carbon reduction in any industry.

But isolated and ad-hoc action is insufficient to make a dent in the scale of emissions across an entire industry.

This network's response is to promote collaborative action through well established and efficient industry communities that routinely share supply chain information and insights.

The sponsor Achilles Group Ltd. is the facilitator of 30 such industry communities in eights sectors globally.

These communities beginning with the Utilities sector supply chain in the UK have started to measure, manage and reduce their carbon emissions according to an internationally harmonised standard called CEMARS (certified emissions measurement and reduction scheme).

This network will help all those interested in leveraging collaborative action in the pursuit of carbon reduction to: find a suitable community to join; gain insights into measurement, management and reduction of carbon emissions; keep up to date with emerging international standards and share learning in a cross-sector global network.

World's first accredited Greenhouse Gas Certification Scheme-with E.ON, United Utilities & Morrison

As part of Achilles' carbonReduction programme which includes the world's first accredited GHG Certification Scheme, CEMARS (Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme), this web seminar will explain how an organisation can achieve a world-class carbon footprint, sharing the experiences of E.ON, United Utilities and Morrison Utility Services who are participants in the carbonReduction programme.

Glenn Cargill, Principal Verifier at Achilles will speak in detail about Achilles carbonReduction programme.  Glenn has considerable carbon experience having verified over half a billion tonnes of CO2 since 2001.

Kayzi Ambridge, Responsible Procurement Manager from E.ON, Kieran Brocklebank, Head of Strategy and Performance, from United Utilities and Peter Zelenovic, Quality and Environmental Manager at Morrison Utility Services will then present case studies with insight about the value of Achilles carbonReduction programme in managing carbon in the supply chain.

In an interactive session, you will:

- Learn how your organisation can achieve a carbon footprint with confidence and credibility

- Learn about the benefits of Achilles carbonReduction programme, including meeting your CRC requirements

- Hear from organisations within the Energy sector which is leading as an industry in collaborating on measuring and managing carbon in the supply chain
