Business Implications Of The Copenhagen Accord

3:00 p.m. (GMT) / 10:00 a.m. (EST) 15th January 2010

This webinar is based on the recent report published by Verdantix, which aimed to set a basis for future UN climate change negotiations and establish a framework for policies on adaptation and mitigation, in the light of Copenhagen.  The webinar will draw on the most prominent aspects from the report, including US involvement in a global climate change regime, the inclusion of developing country reduction plans in global reporting, and larger pledges of financial support for developing countries.  David Metcalfe from Verdantix will explore the implications of limitations from Copenhagen such as what will happen post-Kyoto, no legally-binding GHG emission reduction targets, no coverage of aviation and maritime emissions and no reform of the Clean Development Mechanism market.  This webinar will examine the implications on carbon management strategies for businesses going forward and the importance of still planning and allowing for them in 2010.
