Case studies frequently top the list of most popular content on 2degrees. So you might be interested to hear that the Better Buildings Partnership - a collaboration of 15 of the largest commercial property owners in the UK, in partnership with the Mayor of London - have published a new set highlighting the opportunities that exist to improve the environmental performance of existing commercial buildings.

The case studies showcase projects undertaken by the Better Buildings Partnership members - who include British Land, Grosvenor, Land Securities and Legal & General Property - and have undertaken practical measures to reduce energy and water use, improve waste management and develop effective landlord tenant partnerships.

Case studies include:

  • Retrofitting of a multi-occupied building at Legal & General Property’s 50 Pall Mall, where a £60,000 investment has resulted in savings of over £40,000 and 280 tonnes CO2 per year.
  • A new sustainable delivery and procurement strategy by Henderson for their retailers at the Brewery Shopping Centre, saving over 1,000 tonnes of CO2
  • A £4 million portfolio wide retrofit project by Transport for London, saving 2,400 tonnes CO2 a year across 22 buildings
  • Quintain encouraging students to reduce energy consumption at their IQ student accommodation with the chance of winning free pizza!
